|Position Summary||The Office of Academic Affairs atthe University of New Mexico-Taos seeks a highly motivated Supervisor ofAcademic Advisement to work with academic advisors and students at UNM Taos,with a special emphasis on the Academic Coaching model and Graduation/Transfer advisement. TheSupervisor of Academic Advisement will also coordinate overalladvising/coaching efforts at UNM Taos and will supervise additional advisor(s)in the Office of Academic Affairs. This individual will overseeadvising/coaching initiatives as they pertain to student success, retention,and graduation. Additionally, thisindividual will connect students to faculty advisors, tutors, support services,and other resources to ensure that all students receive personal assistance andthe connections to the resources and support their need to progress in theirstudies successfully. |
This position will be funded by the Guided Pathways to Success and CultivamosTitle V grants. This position will work in partnership with the Office ofAcademic Affairs, the Center for Academic Success and Achievement, and otherstaff and TRiO advisors. This position will also serve as the advisementliaison to other entities across campus (UNM Branches and Main campus), otherHigher Education institutions (i.e., articulation agreements, student transferinitiatives), and in the community at large.
The Supervisor of Academic Advisement will manageacademic advisement/coaching personnel, provide academic advisement tostudents, including navigating transfer processes, monitoring student progressand implementing strategies for intervention to assist in the success of UNMTaos students. This individual is responsible for all advising/coaching initiativesas they pertain to student success, retention, and graduation. Additionally,this individual will connect students to faculty advisors, tutors, supportservices, and other resources to ensure that all students receive personalassistance and the connections to the resources and support their need toprogress in their studies successfully.

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
