|Working Title||Environ Hlth & Safety Tech 3|
The UNM Risk and Safety Department is looking for three (3) experienced and qualified Environmental Health and Safety Tech 3’s. Under general supervision the duties and responsibilities of the Environmental Health and Safety Tech 3 will include but not be limited to the following:
* Performs facility inspections for compliance with university policies, procedures, state and federal regulations and standards to ensure the environmental health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
* Provides guidance and consultation to clients and lower level environmental health and safety technicians regarding hazardous materials, radiation contamination, fire safety inspections, and other related activities.
* May specialize in one or more of the following areas: radiation safety, general safety, chemical safety, hazardous materials/waste, industrial hygiene, fire safety, or environmental affairs.
|Conditions of Employment|
High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Qualifications: (More than 3 years)
1. Experience communicating and interacting with regulatoryagencies and inspectors.
