Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prefer high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Three years related experience.

REPORTS TO:

Principal

JOB GOAL:

Compiles attendance records for school district by performing the following duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.
  2. Obtains and totals school attendance figures daily.
  3. Communicates regularly with various internal and external publics to develop and maintain a positive school/community relationship.
  4. Collates data and prepares standard state reports for upload.
  5. Computes daily attendance figures and forwards to school cafeteria and district office.
  6. Answers inquiries from parents and school officials.
  7. Prepares special reports, requested by state or district education officials.
  8. Investigates student absence and documents information relating to absences.
  9. Maintains student database.
  10. Provides backup for school secretary and school nurse as needed.
  11. Inputs new student information, schedules, makes schedule changes.
  12. Requests records from previous school for new students.
  13. Assists with master schedule.
  14. Updates parent information.
  15. Manages enrollment and withdrawal of students throughout the school year.
  16. Maintains accurate permanent student records and test scores.
  17. Other job duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  1. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  2. Ability to write correspondence.
  3. Ability to work with a variety of people and maintain confidentiality of information.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  1. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and district software, and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
  2. The ability to type 40 wpm.
  3. Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
  4. Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Twelve-month, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
  2. FLSA: Non-Exempt
  3. Full Time Employee Benefits: in accordance with Board policy.

EVALUATION: 

  1. Performance to be evaluated in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.
