Job Description

Job Summary: Performs manicures, pedicures and hand/foot treatments; provides personal professional attention to guests.

Primary Responsibilities:

    -Administers manicures, pedicures, and hand/foot treatments to guests according to spa procedures and within the allotted amount of time.
    -Prepares the manicure/pedicure equipment, areas and supplies daily.
    -Maintains the supplies and the treatment areas.
    -Assists with removal and replenishing of linens daily.
    -Stays up-dated on the latest developments pertinent to the department and becomes well versed and trained in their usage.
    -Maintains effective guest and interdepartmental relations.
    -Ensures a pleasant and memorable experience for each guest and is willing to go above and beyond as necessary to accomplish this.
    -Performs special projects delegated by the directors.
    -Maintains knowledge of all treatments and has the ability to explain treatments to guests.
    -Conducts tours of the facility.
    -Maintains cleanliness and neatness of the facility to ensure immaculate conditions at all times.
    -Promotes and sells nail care products.
    -Sterilizes all instruments and areas in accordance with state law.
    -Applies imaginative and innovative methods on the job to increase efficiency and service.
    -Applies education in specific areas of expertise, job related skills and performs a working knowledge of technology.
    -Exhibits strong dedication and commitment.
    -Takes personal ownership in success of core values and core strategies.
    -Complete knowledge of and support of the Northwood Hospitality vision and mission.
    -Demonstrates the desire to work and put forth extra effort to accomplish vision and mission of others.

Qualifications:

Education/ Experience:

    -Must have current active state license
    -High School diploma or equivalent required
    -One year experience as a nail technician desired
    -Must attend product knowledge training

Certification and/or License Requirement: Must possess current licenses and certificates as required by state, county, city/town

Skills and Abilities:

    -Must possess the skill required to give first class manicures, pedicures and hand/foot treatments according to spa procedures and within the allotted amount of time.
    -Must be proficient in all facets of proper nail care, e.g., anatomy, physiology, etc.
    -Must have the ability to work well under pressure without letting that pressure show to guests.
    -Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
    -Must be patient, a courteous listener, and able to show empathy.
    -Must have the ability and desire to learn and to stay up to date in the nail care industry.
    -Must be tactful in insuring the privacy of each guest.
    -May be required to work nights.
    -Will be required to work weekends and holidays.
    -May be asked to work overtime.

Physical Requirements:

The major responsibility of this position is to provide services and treatments to our guests; therefore much of the workday is spent moving about and on your feet. A certain degree of dexterity is involved in some of these services, and all can require bending and flexibility, as well as the ability to lift, carry and push up to 25 lbs.

Interaction with guests and other team members is key in this position and so requires the ability to listen as well as communicate effectively.
