Job Profile

Job Summary:
The VP for Quality Programs is responsible for strategic vision, long term planning, direction and overall accountability for system-wide Quality including pharmacy quality, Performance Improvement, Employee Health, Outcomes Management, and Infection Control functions. Communicates and interprets organizational and departmental mission goals and objectives to all areas of responsibility. Provides leadership and direction in the planning, implementation, and evaluation activities of all areas of responsibility. Demonstrates actions consistent with Harris Health Systems expectations as duties are performed on a daily basis. The VP for Quality Programs is responsible for leading the performance improvement (PI) process in all Harris Health facilities. Primary responsibilities include using valid and reliable data to guide changes that achieve strategic clinical and business goals. Tasks include board support, collaborating with and supporting staff, management, physician leaders, managing PI initiatives, and facilitating Root Cause Analyses in addition to planning, directing, and evaluating the functions of the PI Department(s) throughout the Harris Health System. Other responsibilities include guiding Harris Healths performance on survey(s) (DNV/ISO, CAP, CARF, etc.), Infection Control (IC) services, Employee Health Services, Medical Informatics Systems, Clinical Practice Standards development, patient relations, collaborating with the Risk Management Team, and monitoring and reporting patient safety measures.
Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with others to advance the Systems mission. Facilitates the work of Medical Staff.  Serves as the Systems Senior Quality Officer and primary resource for expertise on performance improvement principles, priorities and standards.  Maintains all associated records for these functions and provides regular reports on outcomes to pavilion management, the Medical Staff, Governing Board and employees. Serves on various Hospital & Medical Staff Committees, acting as an executive liaison for each pavilion.  Accountable for financial operations and implementation of Harris Health System quality goals within the organization.  Participates in strategic planning for Harris Health System and/or service line quality initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree and RN required.  MBA, MSN, MHA or Doctorate

License & Certifications:
Certification in Quality (CPHQ/CMQ or Six Sigma Black Belt) required

Work Experience:
Ten 10) years of work experience in related clinical area of practice.

Management Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in successfully managing quality performance improvement, medical informatics and data analysis in a complex hospital and patient care delivery system.
