This positon provides administrative and clerical support to the Rehabilitation Services Administration, serving as the min receptionist for guests, customers, and staff.


-          Receive incoming calls, answer questions, refer caller to resources or route call to appropriate section, and take messages when needed

-          Greet and assist visitors with signing in and directing them to the correct location, notify department personnel of visitor/client arrival, monitor access, and maintain security awareness and log of visitors

-          Assist with other assignments requested to ensure completion in an accurate and timely manner, maintain knowledge about DES mission and vision in order to share the concepts with individuals who are inquiring information about programs

-          Assist with scheduling and calendaring conference rooms and meeting rooms, provide general administrative and clerical support, and maintain employee directory

-          Receive and sort mail deliveries


Knowledge of:

-          Understanding of mission and vision of RSA, screening phone calls, answering questions and transferring to appropriate staff

-          Appropriate techniques when receiving guests, visitors, or customers at the front desk

-          Office clerical procedures polices and practices

Skill in:

-          Time management and problem solving, and responding to the public with factual information tactfully and timely

-          Maintaining and updating files, and following written and verbal instructions

-          Ensuring uniformity in the day to day operations

Ability to:

-          Display good interpersonal skills and operate various office equipment

-          Work in a fast paced environment and multitask to meet time frames of assignments

-          Work independently and communicate with individuals who have disabilities


-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
